  1. Hello,
I have just received social security spousal benefits and was told I will receive $981.00 monthly on 4th Wed. beginning May 2021.

My question is in regards to my existing medicare payments.

I already have quarterly payments for medicare set up as automatic withdrawal from my bank.
My next payment for $445.50 is due 4/25/2021.
So will my payment continue to come out of my bank account or does Social security pay the amount automatically now ?
Not sure how this works. Please help!?

    • Social Security’s website says it’s automatic… I would watch and double check.

If you get Social Security or Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) benefits, your Part B (Medical Insurance) premium will get deducted automatically from your benefit payment.

Please see our webpage on paying Part B Premiums & Enrollment, namely these FAQ’s

Try checking your Medicare or Social Security accounts… See above webpage if you need to set them up.

      If all else fails:

If you have questions about your premiums or need to change your address on your bill, call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213.

  2. I tried to sign up for a Medicare Account, but it asked so many security questions I couldn’t get through and then said to try later?

    • Call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 7:00 pm. At the voice prompt, say “helpdesk”; SSA FAQ’s

  3. I don’t have my ID card from Medicare, but I do have a bill for Part B. Is there anyway to know my Medicare ID # so I can enroll in Part D, Medi Gap or Medicare Advantage?
